Cuby is a personal, family-operated communication device that lets a household place and receive phone calls, text messages, and voice messages with a small, manually chosen list of family members and personal contacts. This policy explains what information is involved and how it is handled.
This information is used for one purpose only: to deliver calls and messages between the device owner and the specific contacts they have chosen. We do not use it for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any automated decision-making. Messages are transmitted using Twilio, our telecommunications provider, solely to carry them to their intended recipient.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not share, sell, or provide phone numbers or SMS opt-in and consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as our messaging provider, is permitted solely to carry out the delivery of messages. The above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile opt-in data and consent are never sold or shared with lead generators.
Recipients are personal contacts and family members who are known to the device owner and who have agreed, in person, to exchange calls and messages with the device. Message frequency is conversational — typically only a few messages per week. Recipients can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a message, and can reply HELP for assistance. Message content is retained only as needed to deliver and display it on the device. Received message media is deleted from our provider after it is delivered to the device. Contact information persists on the device only for as long as the owner keeps that contact.
